Tri Express has announced the latest in its line of tri-axle trains, featuring two-wheel drive and self-sealing seats.
The trains will begin running in 2020 and are set to be able to go more than 8km per hour.
The tri-axis cars are also equipped with a camera system that will allow the operator to monitor the trains’ movements, allowing for safer and more frequent journeys.
The company also says the trains will be quieter and safer than their diesel-powered counterparts.
A spokesperson said: “Tri Express has taken the technology of self-driving vehicles, which can travel in very confined spaces, and applied it to their design to enable a safer and quicker journey for the rider.”
